How often do your wheels go out of true?
I bought a new KHS Alite mtnbike tandem last Spring. I seem to have to re-true the rear wheel after every mountainbike ride. Sometimes, we break spokes, so get new ones while the wheel is in the shop. Is this re-truing normal? Is it a byproduct of each spoke we replace?
This bike has 26" wheels, with 40-spoke rims. I'm the stoker, and weigh about 165-lbs, and my captains vary between lightweight hottie chicks and big burley guys: 110 - 300-lbs, respectilvely. The guys ride with me more, so we probably are pushing the bikes limits...
Also, we broke a new (as new as the bike) rear deraileur. Is this just a part of mountainbiking, or should Shimano cover this under warranty? (I think it was a Shimano XTS, which we replaced with an LX for now.)
Hope to make it to one of the SDTC rides!
