A gentle reminder to sign up for the Dana Point overnight ride by next week, Tues, Aug 9.  That is the deadline they gave us for holding our rooms, and at that room rate.

This is  initial information for your planning.  I will give you more detailed information and answer your questions as we get closer to the August hotel cutoff date.

 

I have reserved 12 rooms at the Dana Point Marina Inn.  This is the same hotel we have always used and the same number of rooms we needed last year.  They kept the room rate the same as last year at $89.00 plus tax for either a king bed or two queen beds.  I reserved 8 king rooms and 4 rooms with two queen beds.  Two of the queen rooms have already been taken. 

 

The above rate is valid until August 17, 2005.  Then the rate and availability could change.  If you can join us on this weekend ride you should call the Marina Inn at 949/496-1203, ask for Susan Matos, and give her your credit card number/information.  This will secure the room you want.  She will work with all of you to get the type of room you want from what is available.  The sooner you call the more likely you are to get either a king or 2 queen beds as you prefer.

 

We usually leave Del Mar around 9am on Saturday morning, arriving in Dana Point around 2:30 after a lunch stop.  We return from Dana Point on Sunday around 9:30am after taking a group photo at the Richard Dana Memorial.  We usually don't stop to eat on the way back but will do whatever the group prefers.   It is approximately 55 miles each way with mostly flat terrain. If you live along the route we can meet you somewhere along the way.
