Hi everyone.
If you missed Kirk and Trudie's wonderful East County ride on Sunday and
are pining for some exercise, or if you were there and want more great
SDTC company, we have a special opportunity this Saturday, May 7
(weather gods permitting). A tandeming couple from Denver, the
Thomassons, will be in town and would like to ride while they're here.
The Tarkingtons and Tony and I are planning to do a 50-miler with them
on Saturday, and we'd like to invite you to join us. The route will be
one of Tony's finest--from Del Mar through Rancho Santa Fe, into Elfin
Forest and Harmony Grove, then into Escondido and back along the Del
Dios Highway. It's a very scenic, tandem-friendly route with a
reasonable amount of climbing but not a killer. We'll have route slips
available.
The ride will start at the Tarkington's house at 100 11th Street in Del
Mar. Because Ron and Cheryl will be taking the train from downtown to
get there and will need to set up the bike they're borrowing, we're
going to start rather late--around 10:30 a.m. (I need to confirm this
with Steve and Al but will send another e-mail if it changes.)
I hope some of you can make the ride. It's a great chance to stretch
your legs, challenge your cardiovascular system, enjoy some of San Diego
County's best scenery, spread some good cycling karma and make new friends!
See you Saturday!
Sarah
P.S. E-mail me if you need directions to the Tarkingtons' or if you have
any questions. Or you can call the tandem club hotline at SDTC World
