Hello Group,

I hope that this is an appropriate use of the list. My girlfriend and
I would like to ride Rosarita-Ensenada on a tandem. I am 5'11 and she
5'7. As a former bicycle racer, I want to be able to enjoy the sport
with her (as I imagine is often the case in tandeming).

Would you be interested in one of the following options?:

1. I would be happy to exchange my mechanical capabilities for the
opportunity to ride your tandem. I grew up around bicycles and my
first job was in a bike shop at 14. As a racer, I have extensive
experience with basic bicycle maintenance.

2. I also have a few pairs of brand new racing tubulars (tufo) and
clinchers (pariba) that I would be willing to use as negotiating
chips.

3. Maybe you have upgraded and have an old tandem in your garage? We
would be interested in purchasing one but our budget is limited to
$500. Age is not as important as fit (I love classic bikes).

I would be happy to leave a deposit at your favorite bicycle shop.

Any help would be much appreciated.
