RE: [SanDiegoTandem] Sunday, Dec 5th Ride

Well, it doesn't look like we're going to get any breaks today according to the national weather service, but they're projecting fair weather for next weekend (weakend).  Anyone for a "rain check" and rescheduling for Sunday, Dec 12th?  I've got a new route slip if anyone's interested on doing this on their own.

Thanks,
Tony

Subject: [SanDiegoTandem] Sunday, Dec 5th Ride

Hi everyone.
Ever wonder why it's been raining almost every weekend for a while now?  What have we been doing to deserve this (don't answer that)?  We have beautiful weather all week, and then the weekend becomes a hit or miss adventure with the weather, so I've been holding off on this announcement.  Assuming that the meterological prognosticators and mother nature miss our target by at least a few hours, we will ride again this Sunday.  Please hang in there as Team JJ's ride would have been beautiful if the start had been just one-half hour later.  We'll keep an eye out and update the starting time by email if appropriate, but any solid indication of rain will cancel.

This Sunday, December 5th Sarah and I will be leading another variant of one of my Rancho Santa Fe rides that starts by going out the newly completed SR56/Carmel Valley bike trail. The ride, which will be roughly 37 miles, will nominally start at 9:00a.m.,  at the Carmel Valley Recreation Center, 3777 Townsgate Drive.

We'll have route slips at the ride start. I'll be riding the route tomorrow to update the turns and distances.  If there doesn't appear to be enough time for the whole ride on Sunday, there are several places where we can cut it short to avoid bad weather.

To get to the Carmel Valley Rec Center, Exit I-5 at Del Mar Heights and head east to El Camino Real. Turn right on El Camino Real to Townsgate (it's a light, just past the shopping center). Turn left on Townsgate, head up the hill briefly and turn right into the rec center parking lot.

Any questions? Call me at 858-509-9808. Come join us!

Tony

To anyone who would like to ride the route in better weather, I've attached the slip. The Carmel Valley bike trail does not go all the way through to and past...
