Lisa and I took Leah on the Burley and rode the bike path all the way down 56. It's a nice, wide, semi-shielded path for most of the way. A little hot, but them's the hazards of living in North County Paradise.

The grand opening of State Highway 56 between Carmel Valley
and Rancho Penasquitos yesterday was a gala event. There must
have been at least 1000 bicyclists on the road.
However, for bicyclists, the biggest surprise of the day was
the completion of the bike path that runs along the south
side of the freeway. It now connects to the CVREP Bike Path
(also called the Carmel Valley Creek Bike Path).

Bicyclists can now ride the paths all the way from El Camino
Real to Rancho Penasquitos Blvd.
