Betty had an appointment with Dr. Jaffe of the Kaiser Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation Department this week. Dr. Jaffe felt that Betty was
making very good progress now that she is walking with a walker for
short distances. He ordered a brace to assist with her drop foot on the
left which will assist with her walking. The plan is to remain at
Evergreen for about 4 more weeks and then go home and continue her
rehabilitation as an outpatient. There is progress just about every day
with her rehabilitation. Tink is at Evergreen just about every morning
helping her get ready for her daily activities. Dave is there almost
all day encouraging her in PT and OT and being her primary transporter
about the facility.

Betty and Dave met several friends at Hennessey's in PB for dinner on
Thursday night and she did very well. Visitors are encouraged. If she
is not in her room (19C) then she's probably over in the Physical
Therapy room and would love your encouragement and be able to show off
what she can now do.
