Re: [STREND] Bench press

Yes! We love debates in this election year.
Absolutely true, you can't win a STREND unless you have the all the "goods"
Individual lists simply provide a perspective on individual abilities, and
don't forget some of the top individual scores have gone on to a overall
win. The records still indicate a certain amount of overall muscular
endurance conditioning, much appreciated by us STREND athletes.
Of course STREND does include minimum standards to prevent single event
specialist from skewing the overall results and therefore the intentions of
STREND.
Just as fascinating to me as the overall top STREND scores, is looking at
the individual numbers and their respective ratios.
Of course I think my favorite events in STREND are the three mile run,
Pull-ups, and maybe dips, in that order.
If anyone cares enough to try and break the individual event records, they
may try at the peril of jeopardizing their overall performance.
As a numbers guy, I have a fascination with facts, and performances
regardless of their overall importance, so for me I love to see those kind
of data.

Thoughts anyone?

Matt
