Hi, my name is Chris Lele. I'm a 31-year old male.
I learned about STREND while doing a Google search
on fitness competitions a couple years back.
Since I've been doing a Strend in the weight room
(with a treadmill) every week or so. The cardiovascular
benefits have been amazing (don't mind the rips too
much either.)
Anyways, I checked the website and was happy
to see that after a long wait, there is going to be
a Strend competition. I'm signing up today.
In the meantime, just wanted to see how others
are training for this event. I'm doing a few variations
on Strend in the gym (2 minute rests, back-to-back
strends then run) as well as some track workout
substituting push-ups for bench.
My biggest concern is the military press. I've kind
of plateaued and the number of reps are far below
my other exercises. I'm curious if this is a strength
issue or a flexibility issue--when I bring the bar all
the way down (correct Strend form) it feels very
awkward and I think I'm tiring out quickly. I was wondering
A) if anyone could suggest any stretches to improve
flexibility and B) any supplementary triceps
work-outs to improve my strength.
Thanks, and looking forward to the Strend
next month.
-Chris
