Steve,

That sounds a bit dangerous. The belt was probably not even wide
enough to support the weight properly. It would cut into your low
back and kidneys. Do not use that contraption!

I did 12 sets of pull ups with a 30 pound vest last night about 132
reps anywhere from 16 reps down to 9. A vest works so much better.

I like the 75 pound weighted long vest, but it is a bit on the
expensive side.

I am working up to 20 reps of 47 pounds(21.32 kg) close to 1/3 my
weight, and about 200 reps in 20 minutes with 25 pounds-then just
combinations of strength and endurance but more emphasis on
endurance the month prior to the attempt. Seems like you and Greg
tend to go even heavier and more on the power side of the discipline
