Re: [STREND] strend fitness

Hey Steve,

Welcome to the world of STREND. If you stick with the STREND sequence and work
at it, you will get much stronger and in better shape than you ever believed
possible. There is something about this aerobic weight lifting system that is
very effective. The key here is to stay on the 3 minute cycle and make yourself
go when it is time, and then maximize your reps. In learning to husband your
strength and maximize your reps, you will find a dramatic improvement in your
overall conditioning. I started doing these in early 2000. As I recall, it took
me about 3 months of twice a week STRENDS and then my scores started improving
significantly and my goals with them. It has been a year and a half since my
last competition, but I still do the STREND workouts regularly. I am training
for and coaching pole vaulting now and have really encouraged my kids to try the
STREND regimen. In the weight room, most people lack focus and a consistent and
measurable way to train. STREND is not only time efficient (I can do a better,
more effective workout in 35 minutes than most people can do in 90 minutes!),
but is far more effective in terms of developing your strength. Using his years
of military experience, Master Ed has developed a great system.

STREND is always going to be a pretty small group just because most folks don't
have the focus to stick with the workout. It is hard, no doubt about it, but
that is what makes it exciting and a challenge. The group of folks who have
followed this (Ed, Matt, Mark, Greg, Leslie, and a number of others) are some of
the best all around athletes you will find. Stick with it and you will be part
of this elite group!

Good luck!

JC

PS I am 52 and will be doing STRENDS for the next 30 years, at least! I hold the
50+ record and intend to set the 60+, 70+, and 80+ records as well. That will
give Greg and Matt something to live for!!

Hi There everyone.. my name is steve..I am new to this and would love
to be involved in a Strend competition in the near future. I just found
out about this week and really love what its about. I realize this is
just the thing for me. But I would like to have any input from all your
pros who know all about it and have all the experience etc...
I have always been involved in sports and fitness, but never did
anything like this. By the way, what is that record for pullups or
chinups and dips? I saw someone is trying for the record??
hope to meet some of you who are experts at all this.
thanks for your time
steve
