Re: [STREND] MF: 4 nov 2004/ 4:21pm

So what you are saying is that in essence we would need to hold a STREND event
sometime in the near future and have a production company Film and then edit
this into a nice 23 minute package with highlights, teasers, quick side
commentary, and inset interviews of the top competitors? Sounds great.
tronolone is in HI, I wonder if ED could set this up, or else we could do this
in California and invite the top STRENDERs and other fitness elites to compete.

Hold the phone: Alan, I just spoke with Tronolone.com productions (SEBASTION)

I have a pretty good idea about how these things work now. He wants me to send
him and his sons a email explaining the whole endeavor. They will look over the
information and entrust to us the abillty and information we need to get this
done.

I was using the Xterra games as a example. Basically we still have to sell the
show to Fit TV, fit TV will want to know whether or not we are working with a
production company who will then film, edit and cut the final tape for
production. The commercials sell the show of course, and the network would take
care of that. The problem is that nobody owns Xterra, just like nobody owns the
Olympics. ED is what is known as a freelance operator. He has certain rights
to STREND and as long as the original STREND is being contracted out in its
normal functional capacity, even then certain rights are forfeited. (Much like
no one owns the 5k distance as it is run on many courses all over the world).
This is why STREND in Germany is operating the way they are now.

However that being said, we really can't proceed with out ED's interaction,
approval and direction. We need to put together a proposal for Tronolone if
that indeed is the company that would film the event, then package the product
to Fit tv and others. A STREND event probably not earlier then April of next
year will have to be held so the event can be taped. ED has to be a part of
every step so we can get this thing done. I think I speak for everyone who has
ever competed in STREND when I say we would love to see the exposure of the
STREND fitness event. This can be done, Ed of course has worked with Mark
Burnett on the reality TV series that he was a part of. He has first hand
knowledge.

Hi all/Strenders,

I got your email/s notes as i'm on the STREND 'posts' list, but might have
some additional
info/advice for you.

The Mather (former Air Force Base/Sacramento) BOOT CAMP CHALLENGE
people
also filmed/taped their event, and have been looking/considering get their
event televised/aired for Profit, but also mainly Exposure to encourage
higher attendance at their future events.

Their Media Team was like EIGHT VIDEOGRAPHERS for the one 5 mile
Obstacle
Course event, but I advised them already that if they want to 'present it
to a network',
the Event might work best as an Introductory Type of Pilot case as a
Half Hour Special.

In that case, the preferred length of the 'package' would/should be only
(and precisely)
23 minutes, as that is the current Industry Standard for Half Hour length
blocks. That allows the Network to 'drop in' Advertising and Promotional
stuff for their own shows,
and keeps the new SHOW fast and Spicy.

Not until STRENDS are Well Known enough (as in a Tour de France) would
they be willing to air a STREND in it's natural Time-Length Progression,
but they would be a lot
more open to a nicely presented/edited 23 min length edition.

The 23 minute package would include opening Title Sequence, HighLights of
the upcoming
images, and the Attention Grabbing sequences that would 'tease' the viewer
into
watching the next 20 minutes.

I work (when i'm lucky enough too) as an Actor in L.A. and sometimes San
Diego,
and will be a part of this next SPORTS EVENT (Featuring CYCLING!) this
coming Saturday morning [Nov 6, '04] on CBS at 11:30am PST. If you want to
watch
(as a guide or inspiration) the
B E S T B U D D I E S / VOLVO HEARST CASTLE CHALLENGE this coming
Saturday morning/afternoon, it'll be the highlights of the recent (Oct
16th, '04)
One Hundred Mile Bike ride from Carmel, CA down the PCH to San Simeon, CA.

I cycled/raised money for the event, and was no-way one of the fastest, but
i/my team
DID Finish the 100 miles.

But, that might be a guide as to what to prepare for the FIT TV group,
and another suggestion is to not depend on them, but package the whole Event
as possibly for use
for Outdoor Life Network, or even the Discovery networks. Kinda a 'get
out there and live'
do-it-yourselfer' event for the everyman.

All for now,
but focus maybe on a pre-packaged, "completely prepared/easily digestable"
tape for them to view, as in the biz, you really do have to impress on
that (usually) one and only
first impression.

Just a Strender, who'd like to get in another STREND in San Diego or
somewhere nearby again, they're a GREAT idea for Better Balance Good Health.
