Re: [STREND] Hello and Training

Jim,

Everyone is a little different, some folks have a naturally higher
strength/power base, and only need to train their bodies to deal with the
repetitiveness, and the lactic acid.
Some have a stronger endurance background and so slowly mix in heavier weights
into their training.
I like to use the fall and Winter to build up a little muscle and power, and the
Spring for higher repetitions. Of course I run every day too, and that more
then anything has given me the tenacity to perform at a higher level.

First test yourself through a STREND Time trial at home, find out what your
weaknesses are and where you can make the most improvements. Take things week
by week, experiment with different exercises, and make sure to use proper
technique.

Of course eventually just sign up and compete in a STREND,

good luck

Matt

Hi,

Jim here. I've been interested in STREND since it came out and was
still working on the 12 Levels instead of a straight body weight
(1994?). Been following the posts for about a year now and have been
very impressed by all the high reps people have performed.
Congratulations to all of you!

My main question is "How do you train?" I have heard numerous
methods and was wondering what the top performers did to get such
high number of reps. Should I go with high reps and build the weight
up or put my weight on the bar and build up reps? Thanks for your
help!
