Description
The STREND Fitness Challenge is a unique multi-fitness event, consisting of muscular STRength tests and a cardiovascular ENDurance test, hence the name STREND. This short, but grueling event combines five upper body STRength tests: bench press, pull up, shoulder press, chin up, and bar dip, with an ENDurance test: a three mile run after completing all of the other exercises. All weightlifting events are based on the athlete’s body weight.
Founded in Hawaii in the mid-1990s, it is growing sports, with competitions being held in Canada, Germany, California, Minnesota, as well as the annual World Championships in Hawaii.
This forum is for members to discuss events, training techniques, and questions regarding STREND. You can use it to find a training partner or talk about your STREND successes. Future event dates, registration deadlines, and results of recent events will also be posted here.
