Greetings all,
I am writing to invite you and your teams to participate in Glory Days
2007. Glory Days will be hosted 0ct. 13-14 at the Naperville Polo
Grounds, outside Chicago, IL. The tournament fee for youth teams is
$200. This will be a two day event.
Pool play will be on Saturday with a minimum of 4 games for all teams.
Elimination bracket play will begin Saturday morning with all teams
guaranteed 2 games. The youth division will be played in the "Open"
format. As such, teams can be co-ed but there will be no requirement
to be so and no required team mix.
We are asking for teams that are interested to contact me at
youthultimate@.... Bids will be announced on Sept. 8th. Teams
that receive bids will need to submit the tournament fee within 2
weeks, or make arrangements with us, in order to secure the bid. Bids
will be given on a rolling basis after the 8th until the field is full.
Teams will not be required to submit roster to UPA for the tournament.
We will likely need the youth division to complete waiver forms in
advance of the tournament.
Glory Days was one of the largest college tournaments in the Midwest
last fall. This year we are not only expanding the college field but
adding a youth division. This will be a fantastic opportunity for
youth teams to not only play but to watch some good ultimate.

I am planning on attending the Show-Me state games in Columbia and
would like to take a juniors team with me. This is an opportunity to
play in an Ultimate tournament against some teams from the middle of
the state. The Games are played in Columbia on July 21st and 22nd.
This is Not a UPA event, so the cost is $20 per player. You recieve a
shirt and a medal. Students that have recently graduated can still
compete at the Junior level. Reply to this message if you are
interested in going and I will collect names and organize the
registration.

Youtube upload limits--I had to split the damn thing into 8 parts. I
also made a highlight reel, though, for those looking for a quick fix.
Check it out.

. . . we kill the group. Other than that, we're doing all we can
right now.
Next year, we intend to be fully integrated into the SLUA site. Until
then, we'll just have to keep booting the sexbots as soon as they rear
their ugly heads.
Yahoo has several filters, for instance you have to be a verified member before you can post, but they get through sometimes. I catch several before you all ever get them. All I can do then is ban the author. In the coming month I will be working on building our website within the SLUA site. when we use that instead of the yahoogroup, we will be much better equipped. But even they get some spam.

We have the CBC football stadium this Thursday May 10 5-7pm for one
date only. We are looking for a HS team to play. This is the only
date we got our stadium for this year. Sorry for the last moment
notice but we were working with SLUH and it seems they will not be able
to play? If your team can play please call Matt Reardon (coach) 314-713-
0550. This is a great place to have game, bring family to watch and
video tape the game from above. Please respond asap. Thanks, Matt
Reardon ps- we would enjoy Kirkwood, Lindbergh, FHC, SLUH, Parkway
Central, Vashon as a good match. A team from the top or bottom would
be OK also as we just want to play!
Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
STLHSUltimate group:
Do you think that you/your team would be willing to pay a small league-fee
(maybe $3-$10 per player--I haven't crunched the numbers yet) next year in order
to include a league HAT DRAW tournament in the schedule?
o Yes
o No

Tim Monahan here. Wondering if you could provide some insight for me.
My son Ryan and I tried to sign him up this evening for the competitive coed (he was going to be on my team - via baggage) and the league says it is now filled. Are there ever any exceptions? I would have him play coed rec, but he's only 15 and can't get himself to the games. He would be over his head in the open division. Any ideas? I'd hate to see a high schooler who wants to play and improve not be able to.
Thanks,
=> Tim

The St. Louis Ultimate Association’s Summer League will soon start. Spread the word to all your teammates.
There are three divisions:
Coed Recreational division, played Mondays at
TowerGrovePark
Open division, played Wednesdays at BuderPark
Coed Competitive division, played Thursdays at TowerGrovePark
If your schedule allows, sign up. Registration will close on May 7. You must be registered and paid in order to be placed on a team.
It will be a good experience and help further develop your disc skills. The season will run May 14 – Aug. 14 and includes a one day tournament on Sat. June 2 with a catered picnic.
hey dana its andrew from the fall league and i also saw u at the tournie as well, but i think i maid a mistake in signing up for the summer league cus i think i signed up for both open and rec and i was trying to sign up on the open league because we have a team created in the open team that my coach (becker) told us to create. so i accidentally signed up for both and i was wondering if u could mark me off the list on your rec league because i just had a mix up in the sign up so if u could just tell email me back if u can see if it is possible be marked off the rec list, cus that would be great

As a High School Ultimate player in St. Louis, you will continue to improve your skills by signing up for one of the Summer Leagues offered through www.SLUA.org.
Most players I saw at the State tournament are perfect for the Co-ed Rec league played in Tower Grove Park. You will be drafted on a team of some very experienced players who are committed to seeing you improve. You will improve!
Only a select few should enter the Competitive League, played on Wednesday nights at Buder Park. It is very different in that we accept a core of up to 12 players, meaning entire teams are entering the League. PRIORY is only core that I saw in the State tournament that can hold
their own on the same field as Washington University, St. Louis University (college not high school), Big River, College all-stars, and Fat Boys.
Others that should consider signing up for the Competitve (Wed) league are those 2 players on each team that were elected to represent their team in the All-Star Game (May 20th). If you are a graduating Senior and plan to try out for your college team, you should absolutely register for the Competitve League. If you do not catch or throw MOST of your team's points, stick with the Co-ed Rec league.
You do NOT have to sign up with a core, as you will be assigned to one of the teams already formed.
They key message here is that registration for Summer League closes on Monday May 7th. So don't delay, connect with your peers and sign up. To be on the same team as others you play with, use the
"baggage" options and associate your registration with others. Baggage has to be recipricol, meaning both players have to list eachother.
Don't wait...Sign up now so you don't lose your spot in the draft.
Thanks,
Buck Schneider
PS. Peter from Priory...I have some ideas for your team if you cannot form a core, so call me.
I'm not sure which email Scott is referring to, but Aaron Cannon had
emailed me about the same thing. There was no way to do it
otherwise...unless you can figure it out. It was important that teams
1-3 play 1-3 for the last three weeks...leaving four teams in each
division...and no answer for them playing across three games unless
you include double headers and byes. The point is to have competitive
games , that have some meaning at the end. These games accomplish
that. Also, for those that went to the State tournament, we will have
played nearly every team in the state by the time were done anyway.
Don't forget, we're having the All Star Game on Sunday, May 20th, 2:00
PM at Francis Howell Central.
If you haven't already done so, be sure to go to the DATABASE section
of this website and fill out your team's information there.
South division? Are you out there?
The thing will be a sort of end-of-the-year picnic. There'll be free
food, fantasy ultimate, and some excellent ultimate on site.
Jason.

What should we put if the game ended in a draw?

The schedule for the rest of the season can be found in the "files"
section on the yahoo group. The division rankings are on the front
page. I will email out a file to all coaches/captains. Please note
that Desmet games will need to be shuffled to avoid conflicts between
jv and varsity.
I am assembling a "stacked" team for the Classic and want you, your son Tim, and other Marquette alumni to play. This will be a father/son team of sorts--Old guys who still play combined with college-aged players who began in our HS leagues and play for their colleges. It's kind of an over-40 and under 25 team. (>40 <25).
Willie Herndon, can you play in the Classic with us?
How about some of those Clayton kids you coached last year that graduated?
