Hello, all.

As a couple of you already know, Lynn's mother (my mother-in-law) was
diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gherig's disease) earlier this year.  In
response, the Mayberry family and I are organizing a Trivia Night to
raise money for the ALS foundation.

All the details can be found at

Go there and check it out.  There's a registration form to print out,
fill out, and mail in.  Gather your team and send in your registration
form ASAP.  There's also a printable flyer on the site--we'd be
grateful to anyone who chose to hand a few of these out.

If you can fit it into your schedule, your presence at the Trivia
Night would mean a lot to me, Lynn, the Mayberry family, and the
thousands of other families struggling to help find a cure for ALS.  I
hope to see each of you there.

Keep your team together over the Summer!  This tournament in Columbia, MO on July 22nd and 23rd is one that your HS team can win.  Feel free to combine with other schools to get numbers, because you'll need subs if past years' temperatures hold true (i.e. heat).  You will see competition from teams that did not travel to St. Louis for the State Championships.
 
The Show-Me State Games represent Missouri's participation in the World Games, a precursor to the Olympics.  In your Ultimate lifetime, you will see Ultimate in the Olympics...and this is the first step toward making it happen.  Your participation makes a statement.  Make your plans early because hotel rooms fill up during the few weeks of these games.  Click the link below for more info.

Last night I recieved a card along with a gift certificate from the
teams of this league.  That gesture, in combination with the comments
that have been posted here, has touched me deeply.  I fell into this

I can't imagine the number of hours you must have logged to get the league
sanctioned by the UPA, promote the league, put the schedule together, field all
the questions, police the Yahoo group, run the state tournament, and encourage
everyone along the way to maintain the SPIRIT.  We could not have managed all
that you did with as much success as you did in years of trying.
 
If you ever need a letter of recommendation or a reference for any future job
application, bank loan, or advanced degree program, keep me in mind.  I am sure
that goes for any other board members of SLUA.   I could write a "To whom it may
concern..." letter that would make the reader think you walked on water.
 
Great job and Thanks for all your help!  The dinner at my house on the 24th of
June is the first step in SLUA showing you the gratitude you deserve.  Plan on
it.

For those that didn't notice, Parkway North plays Marquette today in
an attempt to sweep the league and the state championships. I
encourage everyone to attend and see the two of the state's best
Ultimate teams battle it out.

de smet has played both of its games.  sorry not to have posted our scores.  totally forgot.  i did post them today.  marquette and priory, i think i got the scores right, but i had not written them down.  i might be mistaken.  let me know if i've made a mistake.

We had several teams getting votes (DeSmet,Linbergh,Clayton,FHC-Blue)
but the most votes from our team when to FHC-Silver.   The variety of
votes from our team alone shows good SOTG league wide.  We did not play
every team so our pick was limited.
