Hmm. I floated this idea to Chris earlier, but you both make some good points. All things considered, I think the best step to build programs and give developing players competitive games is to push for a 4 team JV division.
And what might that look like? Would those 4 only play each other multiple times during the league? Or would there be a way to get them a few games against varsity teams while ensuring that the JVs all played each other?
All of which might be moot depending on how many JVs there are out there . . . I was most hopeful for Desmet, Priory, CBC, Howell Central, and maybe Clayton.

I think you have some points but in reality. I think it would be pretty easy to seed from the top teams in the B pool by including them in the end of year playoffs. The top two in B are auto seeds in playoffs at 5-6 or 7-8. The rest come in in order of finish after the rest of A group. Thus giving all of them a real shot at seeding for State. As well. There should be a losers bracket that allows a team that lost in the first round to a strong team a chance to get back into the seeding at a higher level if they can come out winners in that bracket. It is absolutely miserable to lose every or most league games. Let alone build a program. Then entice these teams to participate in State. Then get your butt kicked State.
Playoffs that are all inclusive allow a team to rise up. Jack

I for one hate the idea. We had a first year team win state three
years ago. No one would have put sluh in a top spot last year after
their previous season, and I could probably name a few other
"shockers" additionally, how do we then seed teams for the state
tourney, do a-flight wins count for more? I also don't agree that
there is. No point in playing the game. Check last years scores, we
are developing some real parity. That wouldn't occur if there was a
mediocre division. I'm all for a jv division, as long as we can get 4
teams in it, but otherwise I think its unfair and unproductive.

Hello, all. What are the odds that you'll field a JV this year? It could still go either way at FHC . . . and I'm wondering whether it will be worth pushing...
Jason, No JV for Kirkwood. Â Rather than North and South divisions, one thought is to have JV teams and weaker, new-to-the-league teams play in a B-Flight...
I for one hate the idea. We had a first year team win state three years ago. No one would have put sluh in a top spot last year after their previous season,...
I dont think we will have JV either. We tend to lose players by the 3 or 4th week. But you never know. It is still too early to tell how many will come out....
For Parkway North, I do not foresee a JV team ... that is, we will be filling just ONE team -- most likely with a freaky mix of equal numbers of seniors and...

SLUH is on the fence with JV. Last year we had 31 or 32 guys sign up and pay dues, so we did two teams, but struggled to field a JV team some weeks. This ended...
I certainly agree with Chris' and Eric's point about the value of having developing players play more advanced teams. Until developing players/teams see the...
De Smet will be fielding a JV team.  Upon first consideration, I have no strong feelings aobut an A and a B flight. On an unrelated topic, I would like...
Buck will have to chime in here. I am not sure about the ability to move the tourney at this point. Dana indicated that they have reserved buder allready. I am...
I am NOT sympathetic to starting a week later or moving the tournament. Fewer games, but here's the real consideration. We used to start a little later,...
Not sure, but I think that if a certain date is not good for your  team, with a little planning, the game can be rescheduled. Seems that most teams were...
CBC is expecting about 20 players again this year. NO JV team but the games vs JV teams may be the most fun. We lost every game last year if you do not count...
Reserving Buder for the Tournament is not an easy thing to change. SInce Dana did that back in November, we were able to get the entire park. In years...
