Perry, if you need a racing fix San Marcos and Harris Hill Road (
www.harrishillroad.com) are just down 35. They're pretty welcoming to
visitors and hangers-on, if you prefer to schedule ahead of times they're
pretty good about publishing cool public events on their website.

Hey Rex,
I still get these posts and love seeing them. I miss racing and
seeing you guys so much. I live in Austin now and love it down here.
I'm crazy busy with the young kids lives, but do hope to go back to
racing one day. I saw a cherry RX7 on the road in my neighborhood and
got so excited that I gave serious thought to asking what they wanted
for it. Although, I think I've about learned my lesson regarding
building race cars. Best to buy one that's been sorted out!
So are you still racing? What's going on with the group? Donato
still out there? Dropped by Vick Auto the other day. It was early
and Robert wasn't in. Man good times thinking about the Runoffs at
Mid Ohio. My daily drive is a '06 Subaru WRX, so at least I have some
fun on the street. I also have '68 Mustang Coupe in the garage that I
really want to restomod. Oh yeah and a '58 GMC Fleetside Truck
waiting for my attention. Not like I don't have enough projects
waiting in the wings!
Please tell Celia I said hello. I do miss all the camaraderie that we

I can make a race down at TWS. Let me know when you're headed out

Race with the F1 guys in real time
Just watched an interesting piece about these guys on Click (BBC tech
news programme).
They claim they will be able to put you in the race on a Sunday
afternoon...one day.

There is a short clip from the piece the full version may be available
on iPlayer later.
I just got back from the Runoffs, renewed the domain a week ago. I'll see what I
can find out today.

I've got a rental; and if I get the Grape Ape running it'd be inexpensive.
See what I did there? ;)

If it's the same as the 12A cars, most of us probably have a spare or
two.
I'd bet I do. somewhere.
My catalogs don't list that part, so I can't check for commonality.

British govt. minister quits to race cars
LONDON (AP) - A British government minister has stepped down to
follow his dream of becoming a race car driver.
Lord Drayson, Britain's defense procurement minister, is taking an
indefinite leave of absence to compete in the American Le Mans
series, Prime Minister Gordon Brown's office said Wednesday.
Paul Drayson, 47, a former pharmaceuticals entrepreneur appointed to
the House of Lords in 2004, said last year that he took up
competitive motor racing as part of a "mid-life crisis."
Drayson, who competes in a bioethanol-fueled Aston Martin, qualified
for the U.S. competition by placing second at this year's British GT
championship.
Drayson was appointed to the Ministry of Defense in 2005 by
then-Prime Minister Tony Blair to oversee Britain's $30 billion
military hardware budget.
In a letter to Brown, Drayson described the chance to compete as a
"once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" and "a key step towards my eventual
dream of success in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race."
The American Le Mans Series, a North American counterpart to the
famous French endurance race, announced earlier this year that almost
all its cars would race on biofuel.

driver giving more then the fraction of an inch that they needed to give.
