are fun, always supportive, sometimes sarcastic, energetic and charitably inclined individuals who live within the West Los Angeles area and seek out exciting, adventurous and less well-known areas in which to run, explore hidden treasures and improve their lives.

S.M.U.T. was founded by National AIDS Marathon Training Program Coach Adam Krajchir and a handful of runners who trained with him to run the Honolulu marathon and to raise money for charitable causes. Since then, the S.M.U.T's have partcipated in numerous running events including the the New York City, Boston, Rock 'N Roll, Long Beach and Los Angeles Marathons, various 10K's and half marathons and are currently training together for a variety of Fall and Winter races.

Here's our valiant attempt to cool off from the 93 degree temperatures in this fountain in Beverly Hills. Wait a minute...some water would have been nice.

Want to join us? We enthusiastically welcome new members, who include runners of all abilities looking to share experiences, have a good time and use running to enhance their lives.

Click on the "Join Group" button above and come out to one of our group runs to introduce yourself to our merry band. Traditionally, we have met to run from the corner of Ocean and San Vicente on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. During the summer, however, send an e-mail out to the group to confirm day and time.

Weekly group runs may be challenging and usually include hills and we run on a combination of streets or trails depending upon the time of year, conditions, objectives, etc.
