Ski season is almost here! To get in shape for the season please be sure to follow this list of 16 Exercises to get you prepared:
TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
16. Visit your local butcher and pay $30 to sit in the walk-in freezer for a half an hour. Afterwards, burn two $50 dollar bills to warm up.
15. Soak your gloves and store them in the freezer after every use.
14. Fasten a small, wide rubber band around the top half of your head before you go to bed each night.
13. If you wear glasses, begin wearing them with glue smeared on the lenses.
12. Throw away a hundred dollar bill - right now.
11. Find the nearest ice rink and walk across the ice 20 times in your ski boots carrying two pairs of skis, accessory bag and poles. Pretend you are looking for your car. Sporadically drop things.
10. Place a small but angular pebble in your shoes, line them with crushed ice, and then tighten a C-clamp around your toes.
9. Buy a new pair of gloves and immediately throw one
away.
8. Secure one of your ankles to a bed post and ask a friend to run into you at high speed.
7. Go to McDonald's and insist on paying $8.50 for a hamburger. Be sure you are in the longest line. Ask them to fill your soda with "Extra ice".
6. Clip a lift ticket to the zipper of your jacket and ride a motorcycle fast enough to make the ticket lacerate your face.
5. Drain the windshield washer fluid out of your car. Drive slowly for five hours - anywhere - as long as it's in a snowstorm and you're following an 18 wheeler.
4. Fill a blender with ice, hit the pulse button and let the spray blast your face. Leave the ice on your face until it melts. Let it drip into your clothes.
3. Dress up in as many clothes as you can and then proceed to take them off because you have to go to the bathroom.
2. Slam your thumb in a car door. Don't go see a doctor.
1. Repeat all of the above every Saturday and Sunday until it's
time for the real thing!
Hi everyone,
Looks like I'm headed out to Denver for a one night/two day avalanche
course Dec 10-12: http://www.raguides.com/Avalanche_Clinic.htm
I just checked JetBlue and they have a friend-fare 2-for-1 deal going
on if booked by Oct 31, and travel completed by Dec 15. I'm planning
on taking the 8:20AM->10:45AM flight out on Friday, Dec 10, returning
on the 1:05AM->6:30AM Dec 13 flight (red-eye Sunday night/Monday
morning) -- you'd have most of the day Friday and all day Sat and Sun
for skiing or the course.
If anyone is interested in either A) coming out and joining me in the
course, or B) just getting a really cheap flight out for some early
season skiing, the cost right now would be about $99+tax each round
trip. Shoot me an email at dh @ endai dot com if interested -- would
like to book by Thursday.
Dave

Up until now I've tried to keep the ski club free of political expression, but tis the season to be partisan.... so... I can't resist...
Did everyone know that BUSH and KERRY are actually related except me? They are ninth cousins twice removed who share a another common ninth cousin named HUGH HEFNER.
Stop me now. No wait...
They are both 9th cousins to: Howard Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and Richard Nixon.
Bush is a 9th cousin to Senator John Edwards, Orson Welles, and Michael Douglas. Kerry is a 9th cousin to: George Bush Sr., Jimmy Carter, and Norman Rockwell.
To add to your cocktail party trivia file, all three of them are related to none other than Queen Elizabeth II, George Washington, and Thomas Edison.
Should I stop yet? Bush and Kerry are both also related to: JP Morgan, Walt Disney, Johnny Carson, Clint Eastwood, and Lucille Ball.
I'm tellin' ya. You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried...
If you're signed up for Salt Lake (just sold out this week) or Zermatt (still space available) you'll need to get your payments in by Nov. 1.
Since we're selling out the trips, We're thinking of having another trip to Red Mountain or Whistler trip at the beginning of March - if you're interested send your preference via email to info@...

The biggest development in the cap business in the last couple years has been the introduction of the flex-fit cap. The flex-fit hat has a broad elasticized inner band which eliminates the need for an adjustable back strap and gives the look and feel of the fitted caps of the old days. The Structured Flex-Fit Cap has a structured "major league" crown, a close cousin to the professional style baseball wool cap.
- Choose from Black / White / Navy - $15.95
You're going to love this bag! It's made of Durable 600 Denier polyester fabric and has a large, double-zip center opening. The seasons are changing, snow is falling in the Rockies, and there's a bunch of ski shops doing everything they can to get you in their door to do some shopping. So why not stoop to their level? I'm not beneath it - it costs money to run a ski club. So - Click HERE to get your own Official Diamond Dogs Schwag.
I'd like to announce that our own Adrianna Pidwerbetsky has been selected as the new Membership coordinator for the club. So the best thing you can do right now to make her look good is to tell a few friends about the club. So - If you have a friend who likes to ski or snowboard, send them over to http://www.ski-nyc.com/Membership.htm now.
Lastly, I need to add this commentary to irk Dave - GO YANKEES!!!! (Don't worry about him, I'm sure he'll get his payback on Oct. 24th...)
