Skiers' Soul Vibrations
Once again, Teton Gravity Research (TGR) delivers the most inconceivable ski / snowboard film footage on the planet in the premier of 'Soul Purpose' followed by the authentic reggae beats of John Brown's Body. Based in Teton Village, WY, these alternative sport film makers not only capture the seemingly impossible high altitude trickery of some of the worlds best skiers, but they also take an introspective look at the driving forces behind the athletes' devotion to extreme skiing and its lifestyle. Adding powerful reggae following the film premier, John Brown's Body from New York State promises to add to the adrenaline rushing and soul searching experience.

Teton Gravity Research has produced 17 award winning works in the decade since its founding including Powder magazine's '2003 Ski Film of the Year.' TGR and its founders have worked persistently to be at the cutting edge of a new faction of hardcore adrenaline athletes and to capture these athletes' achievements on 16mm, 32mm, and digital formats. The manifestation of their efforts includes 13 feature length films as well as a number of works for ESPN and X-Games filmed across the world. For more information regarding Teton Gravity Research and a trailer for 'Soul Purpose' check www.tetongravity.com.

Formed in 1995, John Brown's Body features an all-star, nine member lineup whose authentic roots / reggae sound and timeless lyrics have made them an international presence in Jamaican music. For additional information check www.johnbrownsbody.com.

Dujeous, pronounced doo-gee-us, is a collaborative group that means to mark a balance in the rhyme to rhythm ratio. Rewinding through music history, selecting only the purest musical forms and applying the truest Hip-Hop aesthetic for reinvention, Dujeous understands the universal influence that every form of music possesses

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Ski season is almost here!  To get in shape for the season please
be sure to follow this list of 16 Exercises to get you prepared:

TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

16. Visit your local butcher and pay $30 to sit in the walk-in freezer
for a half an hour. Afterwards, burn two $50 dollar bills to warm up.

15. Soak your gloves and store them in the freezer after every use.

14. Fasten a small, wide rubber band around the top half of your head
before you go to bed each night.

13. If you wear glasses, begin wearing them with glue smeared on the
lenses.

12. Throw away a hundred dollar bill - right now.

11. Find the nearest ice rink and walk across the ice 20 times in your
ski boots carrying two pairs of skis, accessory bag and poles.
Pretend you are looking for your car. Sporadically drop things.

10. Place a small but angular pebble in your shoes, line them with
crushed ice, and then tighten a C-clamp around your toes.

9. Buy a new pair of gloves and immediately throw one away.

8. Secure one of your ankles to a bed post and ask a friend to run into
you at high speed.

7. Go to McDonald's and insist on paying $8.50 for a hamburger. Be sure
you are in the longest line. Ask them to fill your soda with "Extra ice".

6. Clip a lift ticket to the zipper of your jacket and ride a motorcycle fast
enough to make the ticket lacerate your face.

5. Drain the windshield washer fluid out of your car. Drive slowly for five hours
- anywhere - as long as it's in a snowstorm and you're following an 18 wheeler.

4. Fill a blender with ice, hit the pulse button and let the spray blast your face.
Leave the ice on your face until it melts. Let it drip into your clothes.

3. Dress up in as many clothes as you can and then proceed to take them
off because you have to go to the bathroom.

2. Slam your thumb in a car door. Don't go see a doctor.

1. Repeat all of the above every Saturday and Sunday until it's time
for the real thing!

Hi everyone,

Looks like I'm headed out to Denver for a one night/two day avalanche
course Dec 10-12: http://www.raguides.com/Avalanche_Clinic.htm

I just checked JetBlue and they have a friend-fare 2-for-1 deal going
on if booked by Oct 31, and travel completed by Dec 15. I'm planning
on taking the 8:20AM->10:45AM flight out on Friday, Dec 10, returning
on the 1:05AM->6:30AM Dec 13 flight (red-eye Sunday night/Monday
morning) -- you'd have most of the day Friday and all day Sat and Sun
for skiing or the course.

If anyone is interested in either A) coming out and joining me in the
course, or B) just getting a really cheap flight out for some early
season skiing, the cost right now would be about $99+tax each round
trip. Shoot me an email at dh @ endai dot com if interested -- would
like to book by Thursday.

Hiya Everyone,

Up until now I've tried to keep the ski club free of political expression,
but tis the season to be partisan.... so... I can't resist...
Did everyone know that BUSH and KERRY are actually related
except me? They are ninth cousins twice removed who share a
another common ninth cousin named HUGH HEFNER.

Stop me now. No wait...

They are both 9th cousins to: Howard Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and Richard Nixon.

Bush is a 9th cousin to Senator John Edwards, Orson Welles, and Michael Douglas.
Kerry is a 9th cousin to: George Bush Sr., Jimmy Carter, and Norman Rockwell.

To add to your cocktail party trivia file, all three of them are related to none other
than Queen Elizabeth II, George Washington, and Thomas Edison.

Should I stop yet? Bush and Kerry are both also related to:
JP Morgan, Walt Disney, Johnny Carson, Clint Eastwood, and Lucille Ball.

I'm tellin' ya. You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried...

If you're signed up for Salt Lake (just sold out this week) or Zermatt
(still space available) you'll need to get your payments in by Nov. 1.

Since we're selling out the trips, We're thinking of having another trip
to Red Mountain or Whistler trip at the beginning of March - if you're
interested send your preference via email to info@...

Official Diamond Dogs Schwag!

Get the latest sportswear and gear with the Diamond Dogs logo on it.

Made from 100% "open end" cotton, which is a little less processed than the top- of-the-line "ringspun" cotton that doesn’t skimp on quality. With double needle tailoring throughout, the neck and shoulder seams are also taped for durability and stability. Plus, the hearty 6-ounce fabric is as “beefy” as its more expensive counterparts! With 14 great colors to choose from, this tee offers the comfort of 100% cotton at an excellent price.

  - Choose from Ash / Black / Blue Stone / Burgundy / Fuscia /
  Hunter Green / Natural / Navy / Orange / Yellow / Purple / Red /
  Royal / White / Only - $9.95

The biggest development in the cap business in the last couple years has been the introduction of the flex-fit cap. The flex-fit hat has a broad elasticized inner band which eliminates the need for an adjustable back strap and gives the look and feel of the fitted caps of the old days. The Structured Flex-Fit Cap has a structured "major league" crown, a close cousin to the professional style baseball wool cap.

- Choose from Black / White / Navy - $15.95

You're going to love this bag! It's made of Durable 600 Denier polyester fabric and has a large, double-zip center opening. The exterior zippered end pocket holds small items securely and the mesh pockets are great for items you need to keep handy. Black web carrying handles and an adjustable/removable shoulder strap make it easy to carry no matter how you choose to carry it. Perfect for a trip to the beach. Perfect for a drive to the mountains.

Choose from Black / Green / Red / Blue - $21.95

Ruff Hewn is a quality brand usually found at Saks Fifth Avenue and other upper crust stores. Due to a very special purchase, the crusty and trusty folks at Queensboro are able to offer you this stylish, full-zippered, fleece with the Diamond Dogs logo! It's the perfect fleece for a cool day and also wears well over a sweater or under a jacket. This soft and attractive fleece features a full collar, contrasting trim and a small, zippered pocket with the Ruff Hewn logo on the left arm.

Choose from Ash / Charcoal / Indigo - $19.95

Tough and ready to tumble, our sweatshirts are made from an 11 oz. heavyweight fleece cotton. Soft, comfortable and durable, these crewnecks are in a class all their own. Lycra reinforces the cuffs and waistband so they stand the test of time. Your beautifully embroidered logo will be prominently featured on this hefty sweatshirt.

Choose from Ash / Black /  Burgundy / Green / Navy / White - $21.95

This 100% Taslon nylon jacket has a polyester fleece lining and sports an inside pocket. Nylon-lined raglan sleeves mean there's plenty of room to move. Arm holes, zipper and collar are double-needle stitched for strength. Rib-knit cuffs and waistband finish off this must-have fall jacket. Please note the logo is embroidered on the right chest.

Choose from Black / Burgundy / Navy - $59.95

Hiya Everyone,

The seasons are changing, snow is falling in the Rockies, and there's a bunch of
ski shops doing everything they can to get you in their door to do some shopping.
So why not stoop to their level? I'm not beneath it - it costs money to run a ski club.
So - Click HERE to get your own Official Diamond Dogs Schwag.

I'd like to announce that our own Adrianna Pidwerbetsky has been selected as the
new Membership coordinator for the club. So the best thing you can do right now to make
her look good is to tell a few friends about the club. So - If you have a friend who likes
to ski or snowboard, send them over to http://www.ski-nyc.com/Membership.htm now.

Lastly, I need to add this commentary to irk Dave - GO YANKEES!!!!
(Don't worry about him, I'm sure he'll get his payback on Oct. 24th...)
