The Elections are Coming ! ! !
No, not in November - In May. We still have open positions!
At the end of the season, we'll have elections for next year's club officers.
If you'd like to run for one of these glorious positions - email me and you'll
be added to the ballot. Voting begins on May 1st and ends on May 15th.
President - You get to show up at all the events and tell people about the
club! Worth the job for the free drinks alone! - I'll be fighting you for this one.
Vice President - You get to show up at all the events that the President can't.
Plus you get to do the President's job should they be assassinated, impeached
|for improper conduct with an intern, or just generally unavailable.
Membership Coordinator - Keeps track of all our members, and finds ways to
recruit more - we've got 490 and counting. That's 750% more than last year. You
get to do some advertising and marketing work, and go to lots of social events.
Benefits Coordinator - You get to interface with people in the full spectrum of
the ski industry ( manufacturers, shops, resorts, tour operators) and get them to
give us stuff. Sounds hard? Its not. To tell you the truth, its one of the most fun
jobs we've got out there...
Social Coordinator(s) - Okay, the second most fun job we've got is to put together
things for us to do. Charity Events, Recreation, Social Activities, and my favorite -
Happy Hour. You get to work with our partner groups, Dynamic Outdoors, Manhattan
Network, Murphguide, and First Thursday's. Nonstop fun and socializing.
Race Coordinator - You get to organize and train with our team for the annual
Metro New York Ski Council Race in January 2005. Running since 1934, We
compete against all the other clubs in the Metro New York area. Our first year we
had a bronze medalist. This year we had a double gold winner in the Women's and
double silver winner (It's ME!) in the Men's. Help us CRUSH the competition!
Website Coordinator - We've got a website that needs constant updating. Plus a
calendar that goes year-round. If you've got the skills, come show us your stuff...
Group Leaders - We're always looking for people to lead trips. Its a lot of work,
but there are alot of rewards. (Did I mention the free ski trips? )
If you're interested in being a group leader, we'll add you to our list.
If you're interested, send email to info@... and don't forget to vote on May 1!
