as thought leaders. You can play a pivotal role in Wells Fargo’s social media
marketing initiatives by:
• Managing Six Apart Moveable Type Enterprise public blogs, including user
administration, new template development, CSS, upgrade/patch releases, new code
development and the evaluation and installation of web widgets and plug-ins
• Working with our diverse product groups to define creative social media
marketing ideas that lead to products
• Partnering with diverse, specialized technology groups across the company to
develop and manage social media marketing sites and tools
• Participating in the design and user architecture of social media/blogging
websites and tools
• Leading the development and implementation of complex web sites and
web-based widgets and tools on our blogs and popular social networking sites,
like Facebook.
• Coding for diverse social media platforms, such as Facebook, MySpace and
Open Social
• Acting as an escalation point for production support/troubleshooting
guidance
• Managing the ongoing analysis and reporting of web log traffic and user
engagement, identifying key causes, trends, and forecasts.
• Coordinating with systems partners outside the group to ensure high server
availability and integration with related technology services, such as log
reporting, security, database and disaster recovery plans
• Overseeing contractors on technology projects
• Developing best practices for Wells Fargo related to social media marketing
technology
• Being able to work either in a team or independently, with limited direction
and supervision (self-starter, creative thinker)
• Coding for usability, accessibility (for the disabled), and targeting the
cultural aspects of the medium (e.g., blogging/Internet culture, customer needs)
• Communicating technology solutions and challenges to non-techies clearly and
with patience
• Focusing on high quality, on-time, bug-free launches
Qualifications
• BA/BS or equivalent in Computer Science/IT or related degree preferred
• 6+ years technical background and 4+ years related web and software
development experience on diverse platforms, especially MS Windows Server;
• May have worked for a leading Internet media or e-Commerce company (e.g.,
Yahoo!, CNET, MSN, About.com or social media sites) preferred; OR
• Has solid hands-on experience in social media, which may include profiles on
leading networks (Linkedin, MySpace, Facebook, etc), writing
personal/professional blogs, developing widgets or virtual world participation
(e.g., Second Life);
• Understands web site design, user interface design principles, usability
testing, ADA/web accessibility and related technologies;
• Strong experience evaluating web server log statistics, including custom
tags, cookies, etc.
• Prior experience focusing on security and customer privacy as a top priority
• Advanced working knowledge of: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Perl, php, CGI, RoR,
Windows IIS webserver, Cookies, Windows Server 2003 and CMS (Content Management
Systems), preferably Moveable Type/Enterprise (4.x).
• Familiarity with: Facebook API (FBML, FQL), multimedia/Flash applications,
ASP, Java, AJAX, RSS/Atom, Oracle/SQL, internetworking (firewalls, routers, DNS,
etc), Unix and Linux, Microsoft developer tools (e.g., Popfly or Visual Studio
Express).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a comfort level in
communicating with individuals and groups.
• Prior marketing experience a plus.
