Howdy -- August is looking like a busy month for disc golf in San Francisco.
Between the San Francisco Safari (SF's annual disc golf tournament), the ongoing
weeky doubles and singles rounds, and a major work party on August 14th, we've
got
lots to keep you occupied. Hope to see you out there!

(please note that the course will be closed for recreational play on
Saturday/Sunday, August 21-22)

WEEKLY HANDICAPPED ROUND: Come play in our weekly handicap round of 18-holes.
Pick
up a scorecard between 9:00-10:00, pay $5 ($4 the pot, $1 to the ace pool) and
play
a round of golf with members of the Club. After 2 weeks you will get a handicap,
which allows players of any skill level to be competititve and come away a
winner
(you may choose not to pay while you establish your handicap -- but then you
would
not be eligible for the ace pool which is currently at more than $350!). For

At all weeklies the Club will have discs for sale -- big discount for Club
members!

TUESDAY, AUGUST 10TH (as well as August 17th, 24th and 31st)
Pay entry fee between 5: 30-5: 50PM, then shotgun start
Location: Golden Gate Park Disc Golf Course

WEEKLY RANDOM DRAW DOUBLES: Lots of fun for all skill levels. Beginners can get
randomly paired with experienced players, learn a few new tricks, and win some
money! $5 entry fee. Winning team takes 75% of the purse, 2nd place takes 25%,
3rd
place gets entry fee back.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 12th
7-8:30pm
Location: Royal Ground Coffee, 5301 Geary Blvd @17th Avenue

MONTHLY MEETING: Have an idea of how to improve the course or the Club? Want to
be
more involved in helping make disc golf a permanent feature of Golden Gate Park?
Then come to our monthly meeting.

NEXT SATURDAY, AUGUST 14th
10am-2pm

COURSE MAINTENANCE DAY: Join us for our monthly work party, a fun event where we
give back a little bit to the course. This will be the last work party before
the
Safari, so we need as many people as possible to come and help spruce up the
course. We also need to demontrate to the City that we can take good care of
the
course -- if you want to see disc golf become a permanent feature in Golden Gate
Park please come and help out! Everyone who works for 3 or more hours gets a
free
DX disc.

SAN FRANCISCO SAFARI DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT
Registration is still open for the San Francisco Safari Disc Golf Tournament, a
Norcal series and PDGA B-tier event which will take place on August 21-22 on 3
different 18-hole courses in Golden Gate Park. A registration form and other
