I submitted a design for the 2005 California Quarter that received the most
votes of the People of California. Subsequently five designs were sent to the
U.S. Mint to check coinability. I've recently discovered that the U.S. Mint
submitted renditions of the five finalists to the Citizens Coin Advisory
Committee for review. The rendition of my design was done so poorly that the
CCAC didn't even consider it among the top three.
