Hi Jill, What have you been up to? Riding? Horse shopping? It's been stifling hot, but i still manage to get out and ride! Ruth AnnWas out for 90 minutes the other morning and thought I was going to die! It was miserable. The canal crossings are all choked with that weed (except at 154th) but managed to get Promise to go through it at Alexander. Only cause she knew we were going home, I bet. But Promise and I are both out of shape from not riding since Biltmore. Been treating her (it's gross) for a sarcoid on her belly and couldn't even do beach rides.. I printed out the schedule for the season and have it taped up beside my computer for inspiration.
And I pulled her shoes off to see how that would go. She's had them on for 4 years and she was having problems with filling in the rear. Won't know til we start conditioning whether we need to put them back on or not. I'm even learning trimming basics. Yes, I'm really tired of this rotten hot weather!
I read in the newsletter that Gail and I got 3rd and 4th in Novice Endurance. Can't figure out how we did that (couldn't have been many novices that year), but was relieved we managed to beat the pony! That won't last long though, I think. Do we get a ribbon??? LOL
And I'm ALWAYS horse shopping. Trying to study conformation this time so I won't make another mistake. I really like the Spanish arabians but there aren't a lot of them around here.
Email me when you ride. Maybe we can hook up I prefer the evening, but the afternoon thunderstorms are even making that tough. Don't mind getting wet, but don't like the lightning! Cdheers, Jill
