Jill, Are you using Cansema on the sarcoid. I had 2 horses with sarcoids and I used Bloodroot salve, worked great at a fraction of the cost of the Cansema.
I used Xterra. And it was VERY expensive. I only could bring myself to do one course of therapy. The location made bandaging impossible. I wish I had started when it was smaller, but didn't know then what it was. I think she will need another treatment cause I still see a lump in one part of the wound. It's taking forever to close over. Where did you get your blood root salve? That is the main ingredient in Xterra. (Just as an aside, did your horse have warts? Mine had a few small ones in other areas. I read they are thinking sarcoids are caused by viruses. Since I have aggravated the sarcoid, she is becoming covered in them . It's a nasty disease in any case)
As far as confirmation, I try to focus on what I like and then lose out on something else. I finally had to decide there was no perfect horse and went for personality, now he owns me! LOL.I know there is no perfect horse, but mine doesn't even had the personality or the temperment for this sport. She is very mare-ish, always pinning her ears back and making ugly faces at other horses. She gets overexcited, won't eat or drink, has to race whatever horse is in front of her, etc.) She is a perfect trail horse, which is what she was before her mom went off the deep end LOL.
Been taking dressage and trying to do more ground work to make her the best she can be, but she will never be competitive. We have fun anyway, enjoy the trails and the people we meet. But I always have my eye out for the horse who will enjoy this as much as I do.
