Well, I know it's been a while. Today was the first of many fantastic
days to come. This was the day Sean has worked so hard for and I, as
well as his family have waited for for the past eight months. Sean
took his first steps today. Though assisted, it was by far the best
day we've had in the past eight months. Sean has been doing so well
standing up at therapy, that the therapists decided to give him this
chance. They used a piece of equipment called a Light Gait. It is
basically a harness that helps support his weight. Once they got him
to a standing position, it was all up to him. He was able to walk 20
feet before he pooped out. The plan now is to work on building the
strength in his legs and torso so that eventually, hopefully, he can
walk unassisted. Though we know this will take some time, I think we
are all now more certain than ever that Sean will recover. Just a
reminder that there will be a benefit for Sean on September 28 at Rock
n Bowl from 3 - 7. Benny Grunch and the Bunch will play from 4 - 7.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children under 12. The cost of
the ticket includes bowling and shoe rental, as well as a plate lunch.
There will be an open bar and a raffle. Hope to see you there. Please
continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Love
Karen and Sean
