Dearest volleyball friends!

 

Hello from Lisbon! Finally, I have some more time to write back as I promised to all of you. I arrived in safe to Lisbon, although my luggage arrived the day after. I almost missed the connection Paris-Lisbon due to some delays at Charles de Gaulle airport. I literally had to rush to the plane (like in the movies).

 

I stayed the first night at a residence for postdocs, but then I moved to an apartment very close to the university I work. I live with a Peruvian girl, her Portuguese boyfriend and a Spanish girl. They are all very nice people.

 

There are lots of mini-markets, very good coffee (if you like caffe-latte ask for um galao de maquina) and the best of all, very delicious pastry, cakes (my favourite is pastel de nata...uhmm, yummy!) People are nicely polite around here! Right now it's cold but weather will warm up soon.

I have not yet looked for a place nearby to go play some beach volleyball, but soon I'll do.

 

I see that you'll play some volleyball today. That's great! I'll be there (in spirit, de corazon!)
