I received an email from our friend Yang Yang today.  For those of you who were not skating then, she is the Chinese Olympian who spent a year skating and training (and Beach Partying) with us.  Below is her email.

I am good, the city of WenChuan where the earthquake had is far away from BeiJing, we just had some wobble at the same time.  But I know this time is every bad, around 10000 peaple dead already. I feel sad too.

If you click on the link she sent, and are patient (it loads pretty slow), you will be rewarded with a lot of either Chinese characters, or a lot of question marks if your computer doesn't display Chinese characters.
