I received the following email from Jennifer. It would be wonderful
if our skaters could help. Please bring the gift donation or the $5
to the meet on Saturday.

And please don't forget the goodies for the pot luck dinner! We need
enough food for everyone to eat!

I am wondering if there is a good way to put out a request for help
with donations for a particular child in a group home. He is 13
years old, abandoned by both parents and all other relatives, and has
no family to spend holidays with. His county social worker cannot
get a gift for him from children's services because he is in a group
home and the county feels that they pay the group home enough that
they should buy the kids gifts. However, I have seen his room and it
is bare. He has a decent bed and some clothes, and one pair of
shoes. No radio, no personal books, gadgets, no "stuff" of any
sort. I am wondering if some people at DeMorra would be interested
in chipping in 5 dollars and then I could get him a gift card to
Target. Or if people want to purchase an item for him then I could
take it to him.

Please let me know how you think I should go about making this kind
