 EXTENDED SPEED SKATING TIMES

 

Skaters, Parents and Coaches:

 

Southern California Speed Skating is proud to be the recipient of a United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Development Grant!  This is a six month grant to build, strengthen and develop our Learn-to-Skate program.  With these funds we will: 

 

- purchase new equipment

- buy additional ice time, and

- put LOTS of new skaters on the ice.

 

Starting Saturday August 11 there will be an additional hour of Saturday speed skating at Lakewood.  Lakewood speed skating will start at 5:15 PM and run until 7:30 PM. 

 

Starting Wednesday September 5 there will be an additional hour of Wednesday speedskating at Lakewood.  Lakewood speed skating will start at 5:15 PM and run until 7:30 PM.

 

These extended speed skating hours will continue for approximately six months.  There will be NO ADDITIONAL COST to any of our skaters for this ice time.

 

What can you do to help?  We need to show the USOC that we can put lots of new skaters on the ice.  Please bring friends, neighbors and family to the ice rink.  If you would like to organize a small group that would be great!  We need to introduce as many new children to speed skating as we can.
