A few notes on the Thanksgiving Championships.

Time Trials:  For this meet, the Time Trials are only open to those skaters who will compete in the U.S. Short Track Championships, aka: The Olympic Trials, in December. We do this because the time trials must be limited in some way so that we can still have good racing.  In the recent 2 meets, the time trials were limited to the skaters going to the Junior Trials last weekend.  Older skaters were not allowed to do the time trials in those 2 meets.

Officials:  You don't need to be an "official" to help out at these meets. Most of the duties are simple enough that we can easily teach you in a few minutes.  We do have many "Official" officials, but we definitely need help!  Example is with Finish Line Judges.  We have expert finish line judges, but it takes several judges to run a meet ("assistant" officials, so to speak).  It is not a job that only a few can do!  So please come help!

Day and Time:  This meet is in the beautiful rink in Valencia.  Sure, it is farther than you may be used to driving, but for that reason it is scheduled on a Sunday morning.  Sunday Morning = no traffic!  You can drive from Lakewood to Valencia on a Sunday morning in under 45 minutes!  During peak traffic times it can take up to 2 hours, but not on a Sunday morning.

Come on down and join the fun.  And as we have said in the past, these kids, your kids, cannot have a quality meet without participation by parents as assistant officials!
