All Skaters:

Due to the current financial situation of Ice Club DeMorra, we have
had to implement some immediate price changes. As discussed at
Saturday's DeMorra meeting, the club has lost almost $4000 in the
months of May and June alone. At the rate we are going, there will
be no funds left to pay the August ice bill. With the cost of punch
cards, we are losing $200 to $250 a session! As of August 1st, the
rink is raising the hourly cost of the ice on top of this loss. Our
only other choices are to raise the cost of ice per skater or to lose
the ice altogether. Effective immediately, we are no longer selling
punch cards. Punch cards that are still valid will be accepted till
Septemeber 30th. In conjunction with the price increase, we will be
canceling the extra 15 minutes of ice on Saturdays effective as soon
as possible. Starting August 1st, the new prices will be:

Walk-In Adults: $20
Walk-In Youths: $12
Monthly Adults: $144
Monthly Youths: $80 (2nd child: $64, 3rd child +: $56)
MONTLY FEES WILL BE DUE THE WEEK BEFORE THE FIRST OF THE MONTH!
(For August, the fees are due Saturday, July 31st.)
SKATERS MUST STILL CHECK IN AT THE DESK!

I'm sure this may put some of our skaters in a bind, but we have
no choice. If we don't raise the rates per skater, we will lose
the
ice altogether.

We will continue to do fundraisers to help supplement the ice and
prevent further increases. However, we will re-evaluate the finances
monthly to see if this remedies the situation.

Our first fundraiser, a yard sale, to help with ice costs, will be
July 31st at our home:
11121 Saratoga Drive, Los Alamitos at 7:00 AM!
WE EXPECT ALL MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN BOTH DONATIONS AND SALES!

Any additional ideas to raise funds for the ice will be appreciated.
