Fundraising crisis - Speed Skating Families - we need your help!

The Southern California Speed Skating is experiencing a financial
crisis. We have two key financial responsibilities and are now
struggling to meet them both:

Paying our coach:

To meet this obligation the SCSSA Board has instituted a $250 - $300 per
family obligation, as Sylvia's earlier email explains. We are holding a
variety of fundraisers to help you. Please do you part to keep Wilma on
the ice.


Paying for ice:

We have traditionally raised $6,000 or more with a Fireworks Booth to
help pay for our ice time at Lakewood. It now appears there will not be
a fireworks booth this year. So, we have a $6,000 shortfall in our ice
monies. We can increase the cost of everyone's ice time. Before we do
that we are looking to our membership to come up with new ideas.

If you have any ideas on how our group can raise $6,000+ to help pay for
the ice, please let us know. Otherwise you will see a
significant increase in what skaters have to pay for ice.

This is a financial crisis. Everyone will be effected. We need
everyone's help.
