Hi, All.
As most of you are aware, Rusty was involved in a freak accident a few
weeks ago at the World Short Track Championships, and suffered a serious
laceration (cut) to the nose.
I visited with Rusty today, and I can tell you that he looks (and feels)
really good! The only damage is to his nose (no damage to the face) and
even with that, you almost have to look directly at his nose to see
anything out of the ordinary. He still has some swelling, and
definitely some tenderness, and a scar on each side of the nose, but
those are clean and even a little hard to see clearly. He has to wait
for a few more months, then will have a few surgeries to clean up the
scars. He looks so good right now, that I'm convinced that, with time,
one would have to look directly at the scars to even see them.
He has begun easy training again, mostly jogging. He is staying with
his older brother in Long Beach, and will try to make it down to the
rink sometime in the next few weeks.
Jerry
PS: Don't forget....We start skating at Lakewood again this coming
