Speed skating fans.  Lots of  Southern California Speed Skaters to brag about at the 2009 World Championships.  Where to start, where to start?

RELAYS – my personal favorite:

Congratulations to the new World Champion Relay Team, Team USA with two Southern California skaters; Southern California’s JR Celski and Jordan Malone.  They won gold and stood on top of the podium.  Way to go!

OVERALL RESULTS

Two Southern California skaters were in the top 10!  This is exciting.  Congratulations to #2 overall, JR Celski and #10 overall Jeff  Simon.

Niels Kerstholt, a Dutch skater who trained with us last summer finished the weekend at #16.

INDIVIDUAL RACE RESULTS

Congratulations to JR Celski racing his way to two bronze medals, one in the 1500 the other in the 1000 meter.  A great performance for his first World Championship appearance.

Congratulations to Jeff Simon racing his way to the 1500 meter final and a #7 finish, followed by a strong #10 placing in the 1000 meter.
