By BRADFORD DOOLITTLE
The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum will celebrate Buck O'Neil's birthday this
week. Buck was born Nov. 13, 1911.
Among events planned are an exhibit entitled "Right on Time" that chronicles
Buck's remarkable life. That'll be on display at YRC Worldwide, 10990 Roe
Ave. in Overland Park, on business days from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. during
Nov. 6 to Nov. 13. YRC will also play host to Monarchs Day on Friday,
featuring former players Jess Rogers and Ulysses Hollimon and former umpire
Bob Motley.
On Saturday, the museum is throwing a fund-raising birthday party in honor
of Buck at the Gem Theater. There will be music by Bobby Watson, Brian
Kennedy, the McFadden Brothers and Morris Day and the Time.
