I'm curious about chapter meetings. Is there a regular schedule? How are members notified about meetings?
Generally we meet twice a year, once in late January or early February, and once around the time of the World Series. I am not sure if our President, Roger Erickson, has a specific date in mind for this fall.
We usually work in a ball game each summer too, but we missed this summer.
In addition to that we kind of piggy back onto local events when we can, such as the KC A's reunion stuff, or programs at the Negro Leagues Museum.
All members are contacted by email about upcoming meetings. The details are also in the KC Star in the Monday Top of the Morning column, thank to Bradford Doolittle. Also the SABR web site should have a list of upcoming meetings.
I'd like to track down a copy of the book Unions To Royals that the KC SABR chapter apparently put out in 1996. I haven't seen any for sale online; I don't suppose there's any chance a member has a copy for sale?
Contact Lloyd Johnson, he is most likely to have an extra copy. You can get his info from the SABR member directory on the web site. If Lloyd does not have an extra, half price books seems to turn them up fairly regularly.
