Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium: location of bullpens in the late 196   Message List

Hello,

Would anyone know the location of the bullpens in Atlanta-Fulton County
Stadium during the mid to late 1960s? I know that by the time of
Aaron's #715 in 1974, the bullpens were behind the outfield fence, and I
believe that, at some point after that, they may have been moved (back?)
to along the outfield foul lines.

My father tells me that he remembers watching Bob Gibson warm up along
the left field line in a Cards vs. Braves game played at Atlanta-Fulton
County in the late 1960s. He has been wrong before, though.

I've checked several of the online ballpark sites and have not found a
definitive answer. Mr Clem's site has a graphic showing the bullpens at
Atlanta-Fulton County along the foul lines. However, it is difficult to
tell whether this graphic represents the stadium as it was when it
opened in the '60s, or as it was at the end of operations.

Thanks for any advice or info on this subject.

Steve Willoughby
