The Washington Park wall revisited   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #356 of 406 |
It took me a couple of years to get around to this, but I have finally
organized all my thoughts and the available evidence on the age of
that brick wall along Third Avenue in Brooklyn, the former site of the
latter day Washington Park.

Rather than attempt to summarize here, please read the page:

http://www.covehurst.net/ddyte/brooklyn/washwall.html

Very short version: I honestly believe the wall dates only to 1914 and
the Tip Tops, and was never part of a Dodger ballpark. The
photographic evidence is clear, and the record should be set straight.

I do, however, think the wall should be preserved at all costs, Dodger
or otherwise. It's a beautiful relic of a long gone era.
