I wish to make the Ballparks
List membership aware of the availability of a new research-oriented book about
ballparks. This book, of which I am the author, was recently published by
McFarland & Company Inc. The scope of the book is indicated by the
book’s subtitle: A Comprehensive Study of Their Dimensions,
Configurations, and Effects on Batting, 1901-1919. Although there are a
moderate number of ballpark photos. it is not a ballparks picture book. The
intent of the book is to document which ballparks were in use in the Deadball
Era, their configurations/dimensions, and quantitatively measure their impact
on batting. I realize that not a lot of people know about my book, "Ballparks
of the Deadball Era," so I thought I'd mention it and provide a link to
excerpts I've posted to the seamheads web site for those of you who may be
interested in checking it out. The excerpts deal with two lesser known
Deadball major league
