The bonds for it were scheduled to be sold in 2008 or 2009... I don't
know if that's still on target or not.
The city has no money. House prices are falling after never really
rising like they did in a lot of the country (therefore tax revenue is
way down). I'm pretty sure that affects the City's bond rating and
therefore the viability of the project.
There really hasn't been any new information since the announcements
last year.
It's included in the Mayor's five year capital plan. He's Mayor until
2010. Under every Mayor there seems to be an adjustment to what they
want to do with the park. The previous Mayor had a more ambitious
proposal that included a museum along with it.
The council woman of the ward didn't even know anything about the new
plan introduced last year!!
Sure was a pretty computer rendering though ;)
