Hello, Mark, et al.:
    I'm going to relinquish West Side Grounds in Chicago--it would simply be too hard to do this ballpark bio here in south-central Maine. Besides, I'll have my hands full as it is with the two Boston Braves parks, even though I've written on them before. (As a lifelong Cubs fan living in exile in New England for the past several decades, it breaks my heart not to be able write about the site of the Cubs' only two World Series championships. But reality is what it is, and I know there are lots of good people living out in the Chicago area who can do the place justice . . . )
    Mark: I sent you an e-mail to this effect earlier in the month; however, I wrote it right around the time that Bowdoin College was switching e-mail servers, and I think it simply got lost in the ether some places. (One of many interesting things the switch has done to my e-mailing life this month.) Sorry if this messes you up in any way.
