Can anyone tell me when the stands and bleachers at
Manhattan Field were demolished? I know they were
used for college football games, and other events into
the twentieth century. However, early in the century,
these games were now played in the adjacent Polo
Grounds. The last information, through Proquest, I
was able to find indicated they still stood into the
1903 season. There was a storm with high winds during
the season. Fans at the Polo Grounds sought shelter
under the grandstand roof. Meanwhile, at Manhattan
Field, part of a fence adjacent to the bleachers was
blown down.

Does anyone know when these bleachers, and the
grandstand, were demolished?
