I can mention that from my own experience with
Brooklyn and Queens, the absence of a ballpark on a
map does not mean it wasn't there. Likewise, the
presence of a street on a map does not mean it was
there. The 19th century featured plenty of lazy map
makers, I suspect.
I have found contemporary newspapers and Sanborn maps
to be the best help in finding ballparks.
For the Brotherhood Park of 1890, which was clearly
major league, I'd bet some Cleveland paper has maps
and pictures from shortly before the season began.
