Paul Wendt asked:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Is 53% above average for 1901, the only year for Lloyd Street Grounds in the major leagues?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The data for the AL 1901-10 shows 46% OTF Home Runs (Including Bounce HRs).

For the 1901 AL the proportions of HR that were OTF (again including Bounce) were:

BAL  5%

BOS  0%

CHI  76%  (Park reconfigured in mid season and OTF HRs became infrequent)

CLE  50%

DET  15% (Bennett Park only; Burns Park is still in work)

PHL  79%

WAS  81%

Further HR research shows OTF home runs at Lloyd Street Grounds to have been between 53 and 59%.

The above data taken from what hopefully will be a presentation in Seattle entitled “Home Runs In The Deadball Era”
