I just checked the microfilmed official
daily pages for this game and they have the following Pirates with sacrifices:
Byrne (with 3 AB, whereas the Times box
has 4 AB)
Mensor (with 5 AB, but the Times has 5 AB)
Miller (with 2 AB, but the Times has 3 AB)
Wagner (with 3 AB, but the Times has 4 AB)
Unfortunately the official records don’t
have team totals by day, but these are some scary difference.

Subject: [SABR_Records] Inning
with four sacrifices
The Sporting News record book lists
sacrifices during the 8th inning of their 5-3 win over
21, 1913.
The NY Times boxscore just lists two sacrifices: Mensor and Wilson,
the #1 and #5 hitters. The game story does say that
"brace" of errors and
Pirates were credited with three batters reaching safely on errors.
The Pirates scored three runs in the 8th and they were scored by the
3-4-5 hitters: Viox, Wagner, and Miller.
