The Sporting News record book lists Pittsburgh as having a record four
sacrifices during the 8th inning of their 5-3 win over Brooklyn on May
21, 1913.
The NY Times boxscore just lists two sacrifices: Mensor and Wilson,
the #1 and #5 hitters. The game story does say that Brooklyn made a
"brace" of errors and Brooklyn did have three errors overall. The
Pirates were credited with three batters reaching safely on errors.
The Pirates scored three runs in the 8th and they were scored by the
3-4-5 hitters: Viox, Wagner, and Miller.
