RE: [SABR_Records] Gee Walker or Hub Walker?

Sorry to stupidly send a blank message a minute ago.

According to the official totals (from the daily pages kept at the Hall of Fame), Gee Walker’s first game in 1931 was April 14. He played pretty frequently but not every day through May 29.  He then has a gap from that date until August 17, presumably because he was returned to the minors although I suppose he may have been injured. He then played quite regularly through September 26. Their last game of the season was September 27.

Hub Walker first played on April 15 of that year. He appears to have been there the whole year.  Although he only played 90 games, there were no long breaks like Gee had.

This means that were probably quite a few games in which they both appeared.  I don’t have time to sort through this, but if anyone is interested, I can send the pdf images for these two men for that season. There are two for Gee and three for Hub.

Interesting dilemma. Other than contemporary newspaper accounts, it's
possible that this feature article would have touched on whether the
two played together, since they were brothers.
