Many years ago, a lot of info was compiled by Alex Haas, Pete Palmer,
and several others for the seasons for which HBP data wasn't recorded
officially. I've only seen the data Haas made for Ty Cobb, but it
listed the dates on which Cobb had been HBP, not just the totals. I
guess one could input it into a database and add a lot more info to
get breakdowns and splits, but I don't think anyone's ever done
anything close to that.
